So I just returned from the Walmart in Poway, CA since that was the closest store that had any 3GS iPhone’s in stock. Good thing I left when I did this morning because they only had 2 black ones in stock and there was a guy who got in line behind me, who I could just tell was there for an iPhone. ( Confirmed as I was leaving )
For a price of $97 for an iPhone, and not the bare 3G but the faster and video-recording equipped 3GS, it was time for me to upgrade to a true smartphone. I was perfectly happy with my little sony ericsson which allowed me to play all my mp3’s in my truck or even right on the phone for some instant mobile tunes. Yet, it did lack the email functionality I’ve always been missing. My new iPhone should change all that…
Was it a better deal to wait until the next iPhone 4 just announced today or is the iPhone 3GS essentially the same thing, with plenty of life still left in it?
Okay so I just discovered this morning that Media Temple has been hacked bigtime! After receiving an email from them detailing that my FTP/SSH password had been reset due to suspicious activity, I did a little googling and discovered I am not an isolated case. Many people just got the same email! So I attempted to connect via FTP to several different MT hosted sites I’ve developed, each with their own MT account and CAN’T CONNECT TO ANY OF THEM!
Yesterday I received a phone call from a client because he said their site was down. After inspecting the index.php file, I discovered some extra php script injected into the top and bottom of the source code. This caused some suspicion yesterday but now I know that all of this is a Media Temple problem. I’ve read that they store their passwords in plain text in a database…
Happy Thanksgiving!

Animated .gif’s are still in use because of their tiny file size and compatibility with seemingly every browser, so you don’t need the Flash plugin installed to view them. If you ever wanted to create an animated GIF but didn’t have the software or know how, then you should check out this website I just stumbled upon called gifninja. It allows you to upload a short video clip ( like 4MB max size ) or a series of 5 images. You then click the “make my gif” button and it creates an animated gif for you! Then you can simply right click the new gif and save it, or drag it to your desktop to save it. NICE! Visit Gifninja.com
Have you recently upgraded your flash player on your computer to version 10? Are you unable to view your favorite websites since the upgrade? You are not alone….
Since the release of Flash Player 10 I have read many accounts of a website not working after the user upgrades their flash player. You can visit the Adobe Flash Player 10 discussion forum for some examples. This could be due to the fact that the flash movie was published in an older version and now that is not compatible with the new player. If this is the case, then the flash movie must be published in a newer version for it to function properly in the new player.
Another reason could be components used throughout the flash file are not compatible with the new player. This was the case with the Camp Woodward websites I developed, which required updating some components used in the website for it to load in the Flash Player 10.
I can only imagine how many sites must be modified/updated to work with the new flash player. So will these same problems arise with the release of Flash Player 11? I definitely don’t doubt it!
If you haven’t already seen this thing yet, then you should go check it out. CDeez Flash Mp3 Player is a music player for your website or Myspace. It allows for you to tell it where your .mp3’s are on the internet ( via the URL to the mp3 ) and it will dynamically generate a labeled CD for every song you add. Then the user can click and drag the disc onto the tray to play the song. Nice…
So I’ve been working on this little side project of mine for over a year now, here and there. In that time I’ve managed to create a website for the player, allowing users to create an account enabling them to make a playlist of their songs. By adding URL’s to the songs, each CD is dynamically generated automatically.
